Easy Turkey Meatballs

Since Ricky and I got married, I have mostly cooked with leaner meats like turkey and chicken. This easy turkey meatball recipe was one that I found to be a great substitute for your typical beef meatballs.

Ricky LOVED red meat while we were dating, I on the other hand didn’t eat much of it (no weird reason, I just didn’t like the heavy feeling I would get after eating it). I remember him being the biggest skeptic that turkey could replace beef. However, once we got married, and I took charge of most of the meals, I made him a believer and we haven’t looked back since!

So if you’re looking to switch out red meat with something leaner – GO WITH TURKEY!

This easy turkey meatball recipe quickly became one of Ricky’s favorites! I’ve used the meatballs in soups, spaghetti, and even meatball subs! It’s such a quick and easy recipe to make while the kids are napping, or if you’re just getting home from work. This recipe is also great for larger crowds, just simply double or triple the ingredients!

On To The Meatballs!

1.) Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees, as the prep time for these Easy Turkey Meatballs only takes a few minutes.

2.) Lightly grease (or line with aluminum foil for an easy clean up) an 11 x 17 baking sheet.

*I prefer using a larger baking sheet so I can fit all of the meatballs in one

3.) Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl:

  • 1 package of ground turkey (we prefer 1.3 lb Jennie-O)
  • 1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs (or gluten free breadcrumbs)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of dried parsley (if using fresh parsley then do 2 tbsp’s)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp of Kosher salt (or table salt)
  • ground pepper to taste
~ Step 3 ~

4.) Mix all ingredients in the bowl with a fork!

*I find mixing with a fork makes it easier to mix the egg in, but you’re more than welcome to mix with your hands if you prefer.

~ Step 4 ~

5.) Once all ingredients are evenly mixed, roll 1 inch meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.

*I find that this recipe makes about 30 meatballs.

~ Step 5 ~

6.) Bake for 20-23 minutes.

*You will want to make sure the meatballs are cooked all the way through, as turkey cannot be eaten “medium” or “with a little pink” like beef can.

That’s it!

Easy turkey meatballs, good for an appetizer, meatball sub, or our personal favorite – spaghetti!
